Healthy plants add vitality to living spaces and when live plants aren't practical, there are some excellent choices in faux greenery.
Most every staging assignment seems to include the addition of foliage to add a fresh and inviting feel to a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom... Plants can be placed on the floor, on counters and even on bookshelves.

As we strive to educate our clients on how to best present each room in a home, we analyze hundreds of listing photos and lately, we have noticed a trend that is, well, GROWING!
Most properties still underutilize the placement of greenery, however, a number of listings seem to be promoting something akin to jungle life! And, we get it. In our homes, we, too, have found our green thumbs rewarded by plants that have outgrown their intended spaces.
There is real joy in successfully propagating a new plant from one we already have and those who care for us recognize our love of plants so they, too, add to our growing collection.

As the growth occurs gradually, we often don't visually perceive the transformation of our interior environment. Unfortunately, this leads to a cluttered appearance that disrupts the room's intended aesthetic.
To further complicate the matter, we can become attached to these living things and parting with them feels a little like rehoming a pet. And, truth be told, unless having a photo-ready property is of greater importance to you than your inside gardens, we congratulate your green thumb!
When the time comes, however, to market your property so that you are free to move to your next chapter, best practices for plants & staging include trimming the number and size of plants to create strategic accents throughout your home without overwhelming buyers or the photos designed to draw them in.
